This week’s ‘Hidden Talent’ are The Don’t Look Now Band

A four piece pop rock band from Windsor in the UK. They have a distinctly English flavour, it’s a bit of a combination of British Rhythm and Blues from the 60’s in the style of The kinks and The Stones , a slice of New Wave from the 70’s & 80’s similar to Madness & The Jam and the best that Indie Rock and Britpop have to offer.
Band members are:
Martin Montague on vocals and guitar
Ian Thompson on sax
Jez Hawthorn on Bass Guitar
Darren Cook on Drums
The Don’t Look Now Band has been going since 1994 & to date have created 3 albums of original tracks; they also enjoy doing covers of well-loved songs

If you like the track I play from Cregan & Co, then check out their website for some more information. Jim Cregan is probably best known for his work with Rod Stewart, with whom he co-produced and wrote many hits. He was Rod’s musical director for nearly two decades.

Vocalist Ben Mills, has a gravelly voice which sounds very much like Rod Stewart’s, he reached the final of the X-Factor in 2006 alongside Leona Lewis.

Drummer Harry James is one of the best-loved drummers on the rock circuit. Influenced by the likes of Ian Paice, John Bonham and Cozy Powell.

Pat Davey is a master of both electric and upright bass, always in demand as a session musician and live performer. He has toured the world  with The Tom Robinson band, Zoot Money, Jason Rebello and Rumer, as well as jazz greats like Ronnie Scott, or vintage rockers like pianist Roy Young.

Sam Tanner is often described as Rock’s finest piano player and has worked with many of its greatest names, including Pete Townsend & Roger Daltrey (The Who), Jeff Beck, Mike Rutherford (Genesis), John Lodge (Moody Blues), Mick Hucknall (Simply Red) and Duffy.
