I’m always careful not to play the ‘alternative’ version of Beautiful South’s ‘Don’t Marry Her’   🙂

I never knew that Black Betty was a traditional song that folk singer Leadbelly popularized before his death way back in 1949. His version is a cappella.

Lobo – just some of his lyrics —

“Now it took time for me to know
What you tried so not to show
Now something in my soul just cries
I see the want in your blue eyes”

Maybe I shouldn’t have described Phil Collins as “That Little Bald Drummer”

I read somewhere that Michael Stipe, vocalist from REM used to claim that he could forecast earthquakes as he got a headache a few days in advance of them hitting.
